My journey using bookstagram!

This time two months ago I created my bookstagram account @readchillrepeat! πŸ™€

In my first month, I was still figuring out what my style was, how did I want my pictures to stand out and what theme would best suit me. I’m an introvert so I hate posting pictures of myself! πŸ˜‚

I started by buying a pink throw as a background and a breakfast tray to present my pictures. When I look at my first post compared to my latest post, it’s insane how different they look!

Being able to take pictures of my books, host giveaways and talk about them is everything I love about bookstagram. I admit I have a bit of an addiction to hosting giveaways! πŸ™ˆ I’ve hosted giveaways for 300, 600 and 1000 followers so far. For my first giveaway, I decided to put together a book box with the book being chosen by the winner.

I don’t think I realised how much it would cost but at the same time, I didn’t care. I just want to make someone’s day by giving them something they’ll genuinely love and who doesn’t love books on bookstagram? πŸ˜‚

When I first started bookstagram I didn’t think about anything I just threw myself in and hoped for the best πŸ˜‚ I honestly was so surprised how kind and fun everyone was and how many wonderful friends I’ve made without even seeing their faces!

I did a buddy read with a very lovely bookstagrammer where we read five chapters a day and would talk about everything and what we loved so far. It went well but there were some challenges I had to get through like work and sleepiness πŸ˜‚ We had a laugh and had the book read within 5 days! Another book checked off the reading list! πŸ₯³ Buddy reads are really good to keep you on track of your reading and have a right laugh, I highly recommend them 😁

One thing I would recommend with bookstagram is to just have fun, enjoy what you’re doing and don’t worry about how many followers you get or how many people enter the giveaways. You do you! β€οΈπŸ’™
